Amazing Grace arranged for Clarinet Quartet by David Thomas. “Amazing Grace” is a Christian hymn written by English clergyman John Newton, with lyrics first published in 1779 in the collection Olney Hymns. Drawing on Newton’s personal experiences, including his involvement in the transatlantic slave trade before his religious conversion, the text reflects on forgiveness, redemption, and the transformative power of divine grace. The hymn is now most commonly sung to the melody known as “New Britain,” which became associated with the text in the United States during the nineteenth century. Published by BVD Press.
