This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Clarinet World collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to www.clarinetworld.com, to our instrument rental program, and to any communication you have with us by email, phone or in store.
Clarinet World is a trade name of ALRY Publications, LLC, 12758 Cimarron Path B126, San Antonio, Texas 78249. We are the business responsible for the personal information described in this Policy.
We sell and ship only within the United States, and this Policy is written for customers located in the United States.
2.1 Information you give us. When you shop, register, rent an instrument, contact us or sign up for our newsletter, you may give us:
• Name, email address, postal address and phone number
• Order details and purchase history
• Payment information, which goes directly to our payment processors — we do not receive or store your full card number
• Rental application details, including the instrument and serial number assigned to you, and the signed rental agreement
• Anything you choose to tell us in an email, a contact form or a product review
2.2 Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site we and our analytics and advertising providers collect IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, referring page, and similar usage data, through cookies and comparable technologies.
2.3 Information from other sources. We may receive limited information from our payment processors (such as confirmation that a payment succeeded or failed), from shipping carriers, and from advertising platforms about how you reached the Site.
We use personal information to:
• Process, ship and support your orders, and handle returns and warranty claims
• Set up and administer instrument rentals, including monthly billing and instrument tracking
• Respond to your questions and provide customer service
• Send transactional messages such as order confirmations, shipping notices and rental invoices
• Send marketing email, where you have signed up
• Understand how the Site is used and improve it
• Show and measure advertising, including on Facebook, Instagram and Google
• Detect and prevent fraud, and comply with our legal and tax obligations
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep your cart and session working, remember your preferences, measure Site traffic, and support advertising. Some are set by us and some by the third parties listed in Section 5.
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking essential cookies will stop parts of the Site, including checkout, from working properly.
We do not currently respond to browser Do Not Track signals, as there is no common standard for them. We do honor the Global Privacy Control signal where we are required to do so.
We share personal information with service providers who perform functions on our behalf, and only as needed for those functions:

We may also disclose personal information where required by law, to respond to lawful requests from authorities, to enforce our Terms and Conditions, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or in connection with a sale or transfer of the business.
We do not sell your personal information for money, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising in a way that requires an opt-out under applicable state law, other than through the advertising cookies described in Sections 4 and 5. If that changes, we will update this Policy and provide the opt-out that the law requires.
If you sign up for our newsletter we will send you occasional email about products, events and offers. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and you can also email us at info@clarinetworld.com to be removed.
Transactional messages about an order or an active rental are not marketing, and we will keep sending them while your order or rental is active.
We keep personal information for as long as needed for the purpose it was collected for. In practice:
• Order and payment records: retained for 7 years to meet tax and accounting requirements
• Rental agreements and instrument records: retained for the term of the rental and for 7 years afterwards
• Account details: retained while your account is open, and for a period afterwards to handle returns, warranty claims and disputes
• Marketing contacts: retained until you unsubscribe
• Analytics and advertising data: retained according to each provider’s own settings
We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, and our checkout runs over an encrypted connection. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
If you have an account, please keep your password confidential and tell us promptly if you think it has been used without your permission.
The Site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and children under 13 should not create an account or make a purchase.
We know that many of our customers are students. Where a young player is the one using the instrument, we expect a parent, guardian or teacher to be the person who places the order, signs the rental agreement and holds the account. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us at info@clarinetworld.com and we will delete it.
11.1 Everyone. Whatever state you live in, you can ask us to give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, or delete it. Email info@clarinetworld.com or call 210-348-7800. We will verify your identity before acting on the request, usually by confirming details of a recent order, and we will respond within 45 days.
11.2 State privacy laws. Residents of California, Texas, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut and several other states have specific rights under their state privacy laws, including the rights to know, delete, correct, obtain a portable copy of their information, and opt out of targeted advertising. We extend the rights in Section 11.1 to all our customers regardless of where they live, so you do not need to establish residency to make a request.
11.3 Appeals. If we decline your request, you may ask us to reconsider by replying to our response. Several state laws give you the right to appeal and, if the appeal is refused, to complain to your state attorney general.
11.4 Authorized agents. You may use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf, provided we can verify the agent’s authority.
If you are a California resident, California law gives you the rights described in Section 11, and additionally the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. We will not deny you goods, charge you a different price, or provide a lower quality of service because you made a privacy request.
Under California Civil Code §1789.3, California residents may also contact the Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs at 1625 North Market Blvd., Suite N 112, Sacramento, CA 95834, or by telephone at (800) 952-5210.
The Site links to other websites, including our social media pages and the sites of manufacturers whose products we sell. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their privacy practices. Their own policies apply when you visit them.
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised Policy here with a new Effective Date. If we make a material change to how we use personal information we already hold, we will give you notice by email or through a prominent notice on the Site before the change takes effect.
