Vaughan Williams (arr. Johnston) - Rhosymedre for Clarinet Quintet or Choir

Another organ piece taking advantage of the homogeneity of the clarinet choir. A beautiful chorale prelude with a simple melody emerging from a gentle flowing accompaniment. Rhosymedre, sometimes known as Lovely, is the most popular of the 3 Preludes on Welsh Hymn Tunes by Vaughan Williams. This arrangement can be performed with as few as 5 people (4 Bb clarinets and a bass).

• E-Flat Clarinet (optional)
• 3 B-Flat Clarinets
• Alto Clarinet/Basset Horn (or Clarinet 4)
• Bass Clarinet/Contrabass Clarinet/Contralto/String Bass
