Gioacchino Rossini - Andante e Tema con Variazioni for Flute, Clarinet, Horn, and Bassoon. Taken from Bärenreiter’s first volume in the “Works of Gioachino Rossini," this brilliant chamber music composition for winds belongs to a little known genre of Rossini’s output. Andante, e Tema con Variazioni was allegedly written in Bologna in 1812. Rossini deftly sculpts the theme to fit each instrument (i.e. all players take their turn with the tuneful theme). This is the first critical edition of the work. Score and Parts included.
