V21 Austrian Reed - B-flat Clarinet - Box of 10

The Vandoren V21 Austrian cut reed combines the best of two worlds: the V21 reed and an Austrian-inspired cut.

The Vandoren V21 series combines the conical shape of a 56 rue Lepic reed with the V12 profile, offering exceptional response and a rich, centered sound. Meanwhile, the "Austrian cut" provides a darker, more focused tone with precise articulation, making them highly versatile for various musical styles. These specialty reeds are designed for clarinetists seeking a blend of warmth, depth, and clarity in their playing.

Their cut is particularly elaborated to suit the characteristics of the German system (Oehler) clarinet mouthpieces—such as the Vandoren W270 mouthpiece or other Austrian mouthpieces. They have a slightly wider reed tip than the Vandoren Black Master & Black Master Traditional reed while still having outstanding long-term stability, excellent tone quality, flexibility in playing, and a light response in articulation.
